LETTERS FROM CHILDREN AND PARENTS
"We cannot begin to thank you enough for your generosity. Our grant
allowed us to purchase a space saver work out platform for our son Jarod.
Jarod is a quadriplegic as a result of a trampoline accident. Insurance
companies consider exercise equipment not medically necessary, and really
don't care whether the injured can benefit from physical strength or independence.
Well, we received our platform last week, and Jarod is now practicing daily
on transfering himself, rolling over, balance, and pressure release lifting.
Before receiving the platform, these were difficult tasks because the bed
is too soft, and the floor is too hard and also not very safe. Your generosity
will help Jarod physically, but more importantly, help him to become more
independent. He is so excited, and so are we. As parents, many of you know
the joy you experience when your child learns something new, or is triumphant
in a new task. Well, as the parent of a disabled child, the tears of joy
are many. Thank you again for your belief in life after injury. May God's
blessings be poured out to each of you for your caring hearts. With Sincere
Gratitude."
Jarod's Family
"I am writing to thank you for making it possible for Alexandria to
have a special stroller. We now know that miracles do happen. And thanks
to the generosity of the Disabled Children's Relief Fund she will have
what she needed and we couldn't afford it. She says its a belated birthdate
present combination Christmas. No words could express our gratitude."
Alexandria's Mother
"In behalf of
my family and specially my daughter Jimmylah, we are giving our thanks
and gratitude and heartfelt appreciation for financing the help that our
Jimmylah needed. Your help was like that hand out of the crowd when you
think no one else is paying attention to the fact that one is in need of
help. Your help also re-affirms my faith in the good that God has put into
human kind to help those who need it. Jimmylah is responding to the pulmonary
therapy very well, and it appears that this therapy is what was missing
for her improvement. Thank you and God bless you."
Jimmylah's
Mother
"Words cannot begin to express the gratitude we feel towards your organization.
You have provided our daughter at a time when were beginning to lose our
hope. The day to day struggles of raising children, especially one with
a special need, are often times very overwhelming. And, it is not often
enough we stop to realize the small accomplishments and acts of kindness
and love that come our way. Thank you for bringing hope back into our family
and thank you for allowing our daughter the opportunity to have her own
"voice" & means of communication."

"Thank you for
all your help it was greatly appreciated."

"I would like to thank all the contributors to the Disabled Children's
Relief Fund. Our son Patrick has Fragile X Syndrome and is non-verbal.
He enjoys the Chatbox at home, speech is powerful. You enable families
to purchase needed items for their children. I thank you on behalf of all
the families."
Patrick's Family
"As
parents of a child with a disability, sometimes we can get so bogged down
in the day to day struggles that sometimes we forget to pause & say
thank you to people and organizations that gives us support. When we received
the letter stating that we were awarded another grant, I had to make myself
stop and write. On behalf of my family, friends and support family, we
would like to say thank you for your gracious contributions to our daughter's
growth and continued accomplishments. It was the LORD's will that you filled
a great need in our lives ---- to provide therapy for Winnie. Your organization
is not just another organization. It truly makes an impact on families
lives. I wish there was some way that we could repay you for your generosity.
May God Bless you."

"My husband and I want to thank you for the portable wheelchair ramp
for our daughter Jessica. Without this ramp we would not be able to transport
Jessica's new power wheelchair. We really appreciate this grant money.
Please thank all the donors. Enclosed is a picture of Jessica. She is 5
years old and going to be starting Kindergarten in the fall. She loves
to smile and be around people and this wheelchair ramp will allow Jessica
to do that as well as be more independent."
Jessica's Family
"She loves it!
It also helps her get the exercise she needs for her muscles. We have told
many people about your organization and the wonderful things they do. Thank
you again."

"Thank you so much for the grant enabling us to purchase a shower chair
for our son, Josiah. Josiah just celebrated this third birthday and has
severe Cerebral Palsy. While he is still small his arching and muscle spasms
make bathing very difficult. The chair has given us the chance to bathe
him without fear that he will flip face first into the water. My lower
back also thanks you for the chair as well!"
Josiah's Mom and Dad
"Thank you for
the grant. May God Bless Your Work." Matt "My name is J.S. and I'm writing
to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us to be part
of your relief funding. If not for DCRF, I would still be trying to save
to purchase the hitch and chair holder. All the planning and research that
goes into any of Jacob's equipment is very lengthy and draining. Thank
you for your support!! The equipment has made our lives at lot safer and
and easier to get Jacob in and out of the car. The wheelchair is not rocking
all over the place, banging on Jacob, or squishing any of the children.
Traveling with the wheelchair on the back of the van is great, and we haven't
had any problems so far. The equipment is wonderful!! Thank you so much."
Jacob's
Mother
"I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the grant which you
awarded to my son Matthew for the purchase of his wheelchair lift. As you
can see in the enclosed picture, he is enjoying it already! Our decision
to purchase this van and lift was not an easy one. The cost of the van
alone was more than we could afford, and adding the cost of the lift made
the purchase even more formidable. Furthermore, the cost of gas on this
vehicle is unbelievable. We knew, however, that the need was unavoidable.
It is very frustrating to know that your child needs more than you alone
can provide; therefore, it is comforting to know that there are organizations
such as yours that can help to alleviate this burden for families with
special needs. I wish to thank you for the generosity on behalf of Matthew.
Our family is truly grateful for this gift, and Matthew will benefit for
many years as a result of this kindness."
Matthew's Family
"We would like
to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous gift to our son,
Justin. It was most helpful in our need to purchase a computer for him
to do his school work on. Because of Justin's fine motor delays and written
language disorder it is very difficult for him to do any written work.
Math also is a chore for Justin as his hand gets tired quickly, but now
with this computer he can do most of his work in a relaxing and enjoyable
way. Thank you all again."
